You in a story

How a book gets made

Five steps, and you see the whole book before you decide to buy it.

  1. One

    Pick the occasion

Six stories — bedtime, the first day of school, a new brother or sister, a birthday, what they want to be, and a day with a grandparent. Each is written for an age band: 2–4, 4–6 or 6–8.

  2. Two

Tell us who the hero is

Their name, their age, three things they love, and a photo. Up to three more people can join them — a sister, a dad, a grandmother, the dog.

  3. Three

Check the drawing looks like them

Before a single page is drawn we show you one picture and ask a straight question: does this look like them? If it doesn’t, we draw it again, or you send a different photo. Nothing else starts until you say yes.

  4. Four

    Read every page

The whole book, free, before you buy anything. Change the words on any page, rewrite the dedication, title the cover, and redraw a picture you don’t like.

  5. Five

Approve it, and we print it

Choose hardcover, softcover, or the digital edition to read on a screen. Printed books are 20×20 cm and 30 pages, with a dedication page inside the front cover. Shipping is included on every printed book.

HOW WE ILLUSTRATE

Illustrated in our studio with the help of AI, art-directed and checked page by page by people.

The stories are written by people. Each of the six is a manuscript with its own shape and its own ending, and what changes for your child is their name, their age, the people around them and the things they love — not the plot. The pictures are drawn in one of our house styles, and every page is checked before it reaches you. Where a page doesn’t hold up, a person looks at it.
